Independent Can Safety Success within Safety Culture

At Independent Can Company, we are committed to insuring the safety of our employees. As an organization we value safety, and take pride in our continued efforts to reach our safety goals.

At ICC, we work to maintain a culture of safety. As a company, we are not only committed to keeping our employees safe, but are collectively creating an environment where safety takes priority. Across our six plants, we successfully reduced OSHA recordables from 18 in 2018, 12 in 2019 and 1, so far, in 2020. To highlight, three of our six plants successfully had zero OSHA recordables in a calendar year.  This is an excellent achievement, exemplifying that our hard work and dedication to safety is “paying off”

We recently launched a company-wide safety management system called SafetyPlusWeb. This system allows us to track all safety related topics including trainings, incidents, and inspections. With access to this information, we can quickly revise policies and procedures to implement changes to better the safety of our company and its employees.

Safety now includes employee protections during the COVID-19 pandemic. We provide PPE such as masks and protective shields and diligently clean high-touch surfaces. Hand sanitizer dispensers are provided in all buildings.

ICC unanimously takes great pride in the safety of its team members. Employees are encouraged to remind each other of safety protocols. We continue to reach and surpass our goals, as a team, and look forward to the continued progress and evolution of the safety of our company.
