Independent Can has five strategically located facilities throughout the United States. Each is a Center of Excellence, focused on certain product lines and staffed with experts in those packaging solutions.

We are more committed to safety and security than ever. We have been audited by many fortune 500 companies as well as the Safe Quality Food Institute (SQFI) and are certified in all of our facilities in which food contact packaging is manufactured.

Working with a domestic manufacturer, with all processes under one roof, saves time and provides quality assurance. A project in the hands of experts, in printing and can making, at Independent Can, eliminates guess work and lowers overall costs. Over the past few years we have been actively “re-shoring” customer’s products that in previous years were made overseas. Our goal of 4-5 week lead time from receipt of approved art, allows our customers maximum flexibility for quantity and timing.

Innovation

Working with the latest design and engineering technology, we guide customers through every step of new package development and improvement. We can design, build and install tools to create virtually any size or shape can the marketplace demands. Using 3D modeling and Numeric Controlled Machining software helps us to prototype or modify containers and relay concepts to our customers more quickly.

Through automation we have been able to increase efficiency, shorten lead-times and contain costs. In addition to better performance, we are freeing up our skilled labor to apply their talents to other areas of the operation. Automation minimizes workplace injuries, and a safe and fulfilled workforce produces superior results. Throughout our 95 years as a domestic manufacturer of specialty metal packaging, meeting or exceeding customer expectations has been the motivator for our continuous investment, diversification and growth. Continuously improving the manufacturing process is a critical part of being able to support our customers. This is being accomplished through the latest high-speed, energy-efficient technology in printing and manufacturing.

Disaster Recovery and Redunant Facilities

Over the years, ICC has purchased additional capacity in lithography and can making. We have moved equipment to other facilities to create Centers of Excellence with focus and expertise in various product lines. We have printing and can making equipment in Maryland (Belcamp and Rosedale) and Ohio (Conneaut and Vandalia). Independent Can has invested heavily to ensure continuous supply and reliability. We are experienced and prepared to change course, if circumstances beyond our control, threaten to disrupt our operations.

With our crews and experts trained and cross trained on similar equipment and their willingness to travel when needed, our customers can rest assured that we will keep them going. We are in it for the long haul. Our equipment is built to last and so is our company.
