Letter to Customers

We are now into the new year and would like to thank all of our customers for their support and for what turned out to be another good year.

The past 4-5 years have been very challenging with the pandemic, post pandemic disruptions, tariffs, and general global uncertainty. Today, however, we believe there is greater stability and predictability in both the supply chain and the markets we serve. Steel supply has settled down, but we all know the cost of everything continues to remain at a higher level.

With this improved stability, we are focused on process excellence, strengthened quality assurance systems and on time delivery.

We are now in our 97^th year as a family business committed to being the best and most reliable specialty can maker for many years to come.

Five years ago, we made significant financial investments back into our manufacturing processes. While can making and printing equipment is long-lived and capable of producing cans and printed flat sheets for many years, they don’t last forever.

• Printing: We installed a new 9-color print line and fully overhauled our 6-color line, allowing another 10-15 years of service life.
• Can lines: We have either installed, or will install within the next 12 months, five new can lines to replace older technology.
• Tool shop: We added new wire EDM and high-speed CNC mills to support rapid tool development, along with programmers to drive these systems.
• We have aggressively expanded our preventative maintenance programs across all plants.
• We have, and will continue to, realign process flow throughout the business, to reduce lead time from order to delivery.

Here at Independent Can, you can really feel the passion we have for can making. We have been fortunate enough to welcome several highly experienced can makers to our team this year. Additionally, we continue to invest in our apprenticeship programs to build our next generation of skilled professionals. New equipment and processes reinforce that our employees have a bright future and long-term job security.
